Hello! I am Giulietta M. Spudich
What happens in my class? A Move it or Lose it class is similar to other aerobics classes, with some major differences. We focus on improving balance, for one, and there is no high-impact movement (no jumping, to be kind to joints). Our warm up is to music, which dance-lovers will enjoy. Balance exercises afterwards, strength training with resistance bands, and a cool down. All exercises take into account common senior ailments such as osteoporosis, COPD and heart conditions. Come try a class! Find my videos for home practice on YouTube.
A little about me:
I have loved exercise all my life, with a focus on aerobics, dance and yoga. I originally looked for a senior exercise training program to help my parents! When I found Move it or Lose it (MIOLI) I was inspired at the effects of their approach. Since I qualified as a MIOLI instructor in 2020, I have seen the great benefits exercise brings us at all ages. It is a joy to help seniors keep active, get fitter, and in some cases, get back on their feet. I currently lead one-to-one sessions on Zoom and in-person, group classes in Cambridge, UK where I have lived for twenty years. I'm also a children's author. More about MIOLI: Developed in conjunction with the University of Birmingham, Centre for Healthy Aging, MIOLI sprung from the vision of Julie Robinson. The exercise classes are recognised by Age UK, CIMPSA, NHS, Active IQ ... find out more at the MIOLI website. |
